Educational Technology Professional Growth

I am developing my professional identity as an instructional designer and educator by applying educational technology principles to real learning problems, multimedia design, learner-centered instruction, and web-based learning environments. Graduate coursework and independent projects have helped me connect instructional decisions with learner needs, accessibility, assessment, and evaluation.

Instructional Design and Multimedia Development

I have created multimedia-rich learning materials, including reusable learning objects, interactive training modules, video-based instruction, audio narration, learner feedback tools, and assessment activities. Projects such as my Hand Hygiene Reusable Learning Object, Radiation Safety Training, and Digital Literacy Training have strengthened my ability to design instruction with clear learning goals and opportunities for practice.

Web Development for Learning

My website development background supports my ability to design, publish, and maintain online learning spaces. This e-Portfolio demonstrates my continued growth in organizing digital artifacts and presenting learning projects professionally. I have also created educational platforms that support heritage-language learning, digital literacy, and access to learning resources.

Healthcare and Training Connection

My professional background in healthcare imaging helps me connect instructional design with real workplace training needs, including patient safety, clinical procedures, and performance-based learning. My participation in ASRT conferences has also helped me continue developing my professional knowledge and skills in radiologic technology.

Community and Professional Service

I continue to participate in community-based educational and technology-related activities, including digital design, communication support, and learning resource development for professional and community audiences. As a community chairman, I have worked to preserve cultural heritage, increase membership, support young people by connecting them with local universities, and improve communication through a community website. I have also explored fundraising ideas and income-generating approaches to support community-building projects.

These responsibilities have taught me that community leadership requires patience, listening carefully to feedback, communicating openly, and engaging members in decisions and activities. I have not always been as effective in these areas as I would like, and I am committed to improving. I strive to demonstrate leadership by working hard, staying positive, participating actively, and serving as a role model.

This section includes professional certifications, graduate certificates, and instructional technology-related credentials earned throughout my professional and academic development. These credentials reflect my commitment to continued learning in technology, multimedia, healthcare, and leadership.

I completed online orientation and leadership training through the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). The foundational certificate reflects learning related to self-assessment, SMART goals, and engagement with others.

Professional Organizations

I am a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) and the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). My professional experience also involves the Texas Medical Board (TMB), a regulatory body rather than a membership organization. As I continue developing in educational technology, I plan to explore opportunities to engage with organizations such as ISTE, AECT, and TCEA.

I have participated in ASRT conferences to continue developing my knowledge and skills in radiologic technology. I also pursue professional learning through graduate coursework, online leadership training, and independent study. I plan to expand my participation in instructional design conferences, webinars, workshops, presentations, and publications as opportunities arise.
